Condition Standards
Every single card we sell is graded by hand against the standards below before it is listed. Condition is shown on every product page, and the photo you see is representative of the grade unless the listing states otherwise.
Card conditions
Near Mint (NM)
The card looks like it was just pulled from a fresh pack. Sharp corners, clean edges, a glossy unmarked surface and centering within normal factory tolerance. A single almost invisible flaw is acceptable at this grade.
Lightly Played (LP)
Minor wear that is visible on close inspection but not obvious across the table. Expect slight edge whitening, very light surface scratching or minor corner softening. The card is still tournament legal in a sleeve.
Moderately Played (MP)
Clear signs of handling. Moderate border or corner whitening, light scratching, minor scuffing or a small bend that does not break the card surface. Still fully playable in a sleeve.
Heavily Played (HP)
Significant wear. Heavy whitening, noticeable creasing, surface scratching or scuffing, and possible minor water or edge damage. The card remains identifiable and sleeve playable.
Damaged (DM)
Major flaws such as heavy creasing, tears, water damage, writing or missing material. Sold for collection or proxy purposes rather than play.
Sealed product
Sealed items are listed as Unopened. They are sold in the manufacturer's original factory seal and have never been opened, searched or weighed. Outer packaging may show minor shelf wear from storage and transit.
Graded cards
Graded cards are sold in the original sealed slab exactly as certified. The grade and the grading company shown on the listing match the label on the slab, and the certification number can be verified with the grader directly. We do not open, crack or re-slab graded cards.
How we grade
Cards are assessed under natural light, front and back, before listing. Where a card sits between two grades we list it at the lower grade. If you ever feel a card has been graded generously, contact us and we will make it right.
